How can we monitor our PHD RDI’s to ensure they don’t shut down?

The good thing is when an RDI goes down it restarts itself the next time it is scheduled to scan. The bad thing is that the situation that caused the issue did not get resolved which will lead to it most likely happening again. The issue will usually reveal itself in the PHD logs
The two ways I would try to monitor this would be:

  • Use Uniformance System Monitor. It has plenty of useful monitors that can be setup including RDI status, however, data can become stagnant even though the RDI looks good.
  • Use another program that monitors for stagnant data via the PHD OPC server to make sure there is fresh data.

Process Wise has an OPC data monitoring software that you could contact us for.
