Is there any way to import past history from another system into Honeywell PHD?  We have a bunch of history going back 5 or so years in a “database” for which we have an ODBC-type interface.  Can we get this data into PHD?

If you only have a week or two worth of history recovery that needs to be done up until the current time then setting up an OPC HDA RDI would work. Otherwise there is a command line tool for PHD called PHDImport. PHDImport pulls in data from a .dat file that is really a tab delimitted file with one data point per line. You will need an example file to get the format just right and if there is a large amount of data that needs to be imported you may need to implement a custom solution to export from another historian or a database.

The good thing is that the PHDImport command line tool imports the files very quickly and Process Wise has extensive experience with custom solutions solving this exact issue.

At Process Wise, we have a tool that we use to create the import files in the format needed for importing into PHD.
